Interestingly enough, I have discovered a Wark connection today but I don’t know if it helps you. It is very frustrating when the names are so common. Have you seen a note from denman107 that his mother told him that his great grandfather, John Elliott, planted a wood of trees, saw them grow to their full height, cut them down and planted another one in his lifetime. He says he lived to be 100 years old but was actually 99. He died 3 weeks after denman was born apparently. He was a builder – he built Elliot Terrace in Wark and the swimming pool in Jesmond.
