John Oram 1824-1907 was born in Castle Cary, Somerset, England and died less than three miles away at Little Weston in parish of Weston Bampfylde. In 1853 he travelled to Burrishoole, County Mayo, Ireland to work on the Wyndham Estate.

Arthur Talbott Oram 1853-1919 was born in Iwerne Minster, Dorset, England and when he was a few months old accompanied his parents to Burrishoole. Apart from a few years at Paddington, London Arthur lived in Burrishoole for the rest of his life and died at Wilford Lodge in 1919.
