In the 1851 census 19 year old Emma was living in Wellington Street, Riseley near Bedford with ‘relation’ confectioner William Cockman. As William’s wife 27 year old Frances was born in Potton it can be surmised that Frances was Jacob’s daughter by his first wife Mary, so Emma and Frances were half-sisters.
Married sawyer Robert Marsh, son of wood sawyer James Marsh on 15 November 1866 at St Peter Church, Southwark. Emma was a nurse at Westminster Hospital and they both gave the address 13, Bedford Row. Witnesses Charles Blackman and undecipherable Phebe ….man. They emigrated to NZ.
