This site is the hub for a set of family tree sites. At present we are releasing only:
- Isaac Oram of Castle Cary and Ditcheat (public searchable, no links back to this site)
- Gilbert Clark 1824-1898, Family Tree (public but not available through search sites, so effectively closed. Has no links back to this site.)
- Descendants of John and Daphne Oram (public but not available through search sites, so effectively closed. Has links back to this site.)
- A set of temporary web pages one for each family “stub” on the tree that has living members on it today.(public but not available through search sites, so effectively closed. Have links back to this site.)
along with this site (John 1824) that is presently public but not available through search sites so effectively closed.
We request those who visit this site do not make links to it, nor to the temporary web pages, until such a time as we make this site searchable. Before we make this site searchable we will remove the temporary web page links, unless the family involved requests otherwise.
A note on security:
Carolyn and Chris like to think we take security seriously. However we have found putting passwords onto sites to be a significant impediment to those who are not 110% computer savvy ever getting to the site. As there are in excess of 644,275,754 web pages out there, finding one without the help of a search engine is worse than looking for a needle in a hay stack. So while our pages are nominally “open but not searched” given the difficulty of finding one of our pages they are effectively “closed” unless someone makes a link to them. We monitor traffic on the sites, and would lock them if we found search engines present.
