Memories of George Patrick Fisher:
Thomas Victor went to Royal Hibernian College in Dublin to pass an exam to be made a schoolmaster. He was given a golden sovereign by his father, Thomas, to cover his expenses, which he proceeded to spend on drink having never seen drink in his life before. He was so drunk he could not sit his exam. It is said he never looked backwards.
