Only daughter of Walter and Alice Loveridge born September 18th 1930 in Oxford. Educated at Oxford High School. She gained her degree in Modern Languages at Reading University. Her interests are cycling, continental travel, music and singing in the Bach Choir.

She taught Ancient and Modern Languages at a school in Quebec, Canada. Whilst there she met and married Gerald Boyle of Fairbanks, Alaska, who was a metallurgist working for a gold mining company. With a family Gerald considered this too risky, so he now holds a post with the Federal Government.
